Hossein Sheikholeslam, former Iranian Adviser died of Coronavirus


Hossein Sheikholeslam, a senior Iranian politician has reported dead of Coronavirus on Thursday. is was a diplamat and former ambbassasor to Syria and worked as an adviser ro Foriegn Minister Javad Zarif. He studied at the University of California before the Iranian revoluton and later interrogated US Embassy staff members during the Iranian hostage crisis in 1979.

As reported 8% of Iran’s parliament has been infected with disease. Over 3,500 Iranians have been infected and 107 have died from the virus as of Thursday, according to government officials said the number is suspected to be more than that.
Iran has taken several measures to address growing concerns about coronavirus, including temporarily releasing 54,000 prisoners from crowded jails. Over 3,000 people are dead from the disease in both Iran and Italy as they struggles to deal with the virus case. death increases in areas like Iran along side with China and Italy.

US Department has offered assistance to Iran, but seems not appear to be accepted. As said Secretary of state Mike Pompeo told lawmakers last week “We have made offers to the Islamic Republic of Iran to help,” “And we’ve made it clear to others around the world and in the region that assistance, humanitarian assistance to push back against the coronavirus in Iran is something the United States of America fully supports.”

according to NBC News correspondent Ali Arouzi, Iran responded to the aid by saying “it would neither count on such help nor are we ready to accept verbal help.”
